Hello Mintlayers,
May has been a month of significant advancements and improvements across the Mintlayer ecosystem. Our development team has been working tirelessly to get the first version of our basic Atomic Swaps ready for the masses. Additionally we are constantly refining our platform to improve our user experience, add new features, and fix any issues that arise. We’re happy to share with you the progress we’ve made this month.
Core Node:
We’ve made several improvements and additions to the Core Node this month most notably is the our first version of Atomic Swaps should be added to the code base in the next few weeks:
- Completed the initial implementation of Atomic Swaps, though it’s not yet merged into the main codebase.
- Finished the initial implementation of on-chain trading, which is also not yet merged.
- Added tokens API statistics to provide users with more information about the Mintlayer token ecosystem.
- Added decommissioning pools to the GUI, allowing users to manage their staking pools more easily.
- Implemented a console in the GUI, enabling users to input arbitrary commands for the wallet that aren’t available in the GUI.
- Generalized transaction verification using the new concept, MintScript, as a step towards creating generalized scripts in the future. This change is not yet merged.
- Increased default relay fees to combat spam and ensure the network’s stability.
- Released version 0.5 of the Core Node, which includes many other fixes and improvements that are now live.
Block Explorer:
We’ve made some minor bug fixes to the Block Explorer to ensure a smooth and seamless user experience. These fixes address any issues that users may have encountered while using the Block Explorer. Please always notify our team if you run into any issues.
Mojito Wallet Browser Extension:
We’re thrilled to announce that the Mojito Wallet Browser Extension now supports Mintlayer MLS-01 tokens. MLS-01 is the main tokenization standard of the Mintlayer protocol, serving a similar role to Ethereum’s ERC-20 standard. With this addition, users can now manage their MLS-01 tokens directly from the browser extension, making it more convenient and accessible.
Mojito Mobile Wallet:
Our team is currently working on adding MLS-01 token support to the Mojito Mobile Wallet. We expect this feature to be ready in the coming weeks, allowing users to manage their MLS-01 tokens on the go.
In addition to the MLS-01 token support, we’re excited to announce that ML coin staking is almost ready and should be available in the next few days on the Mojito Mobile Wallet. Users will be able to stake their native ML coins directly through the app, making it easier to participate in the Mintlayer ecosystem and earn rewards.
In Conclusion:
May has been a month of significant progress for the Mintlayer project. From the addition of MLS-01 token support in the Mojito Wallet Browser Extension to implementation of ML coin staking coming in the next few days in the Mojito Mobile Wallet, we’re continuously working to improve the user experience and expand the functionality of our ecosystem.
As we move forward, our development team remains committed to delivering a robust, secure, and user-friendly blockchain platform. Stay tuned for more updates by following us on Twitter, joining our Telegram community, and engaging with us on Discord. Your feedback and support are invaluable as we continue to innovate and grow.
Warm regards,
The Mintlayer Development Team
