Hello Mintlayers,
As we embrace the heart of summer, our development team has been fervently working to enhance and expand the capabilities of Mintlayer. This July, we’ve achieved significant milestones across our core functionalities, the Mintlayer explorer, and our wallet interfaces.
Here’s a detailed look at the exciting progress made this month:
Core Development Update
- Trezor Support: We've successfully completed Trezor hardware wallet integration for the wallet-cli and are making swift progress with the node-gui. This will enhance security and accessibility for our users managing digital assets. Check it out on our github.
- HTLC and Order Function Refactoring: Our team is nearing completion of a major refactoring for the HTLC and Order functions, utilizing Mintscript. This refactoring is crucial for optimizing our atomic swaps capabilities. We're also adding extensive tests to ensure robustness and reliability.
Bridging
We are implementing a Fast Bridge for Token Transfers: Our team is developing a high-speed bridge that will enable almost instantaneous transfer of ERC20 tokens to and from Mintlayer. This enhancement will significantly improve our interoperability and user experience. While initially focused on ERC20 tokens, the bridge is designed with future expansion in mind, allowing for support of additional networks in subsequent updates.
Explorer Enhancements:
- Additional Data on Delegation and Pool Pages: We’ve enriched the delegation and pool pages on the explorer with extra data, providing deeper insights and transparency.
- Address Page Updates: The unlock date display issues on the address page have been resolved, ensuring accuracy and clarity for our users.
- Performance Improvements and Security Measures: In response to a DDoS attack earlier this month, we’ve implemented a new Web Application Firewall (WAF) and other measures to bolster our defenses and maintain uninterrupted service.
Mojito Browser Extension Updates:
- Delegation Warnings: A new feature warns users if they are about to delegate to a pool that offers no rewards or very low rewards, fostering more informed decision-making.
- Custom API Server Settings: Users can now specify a URL to their own API server, enhancing flexibility and control over data interactions.
- Unlock Dates for Locked Coins: The extension now displays unlock dates for locked coins, aiding users in managing their investments.
Mojito Mobile App Enhancements:
- MLS-01 Token Support: The Mojito mobile app now supports MLS-01 tokens, expanding the range of assets accessible on mobile devices.
- Staking Support: Staking functionality has been added to the Mojito mobile app, allowing users to participate in network consensus directly from their smartphones.
Conclusion
July has been a month of significant advancements and resilience, characterized by our proactive measures against security threats and our commitment to continuous improvement. Each update and feature rollout is designed with our community’s needs in mind, aiming to provide a safer, more efficient, and user-friendly blockchain environment.
